Few designers still work this way to present their designs to clients, with the rapidly increasing use of Computer Aided Design (CAD) a whole new set of skills are now utilised to present jewellery designs to clients or manufacturers.

An immensely pain-staking, fine-detailed process, painting jewellery illustrations by hand is a beautiful way to visualise designs. And it's not easy. We've selected our favourite current jewellery designers' paint-ups as well as some vintage examples to show you some of the best.
